Piercing through dark soil, a narcissus shoot emerges as a symbol of rebirth and concealed danger. Whilst its flower signals the arrival of spring, beneath the earth its bulb contains a silent poison.

In Agatha Christie’s world, this contrast reflects the deceptive nature of crime: beneath an innocent appearance lies something far more dangerous. As the shoot breaks through the soil, it also becomes a symbol of truth emerging from the darkness of death.
